Empowering: The cool word for how I seek to talk to my clients. Empowering in English. Like someone who is able to live their life. Like when parents believe that their children can do it.
I've called it "talking up to"; especially with my psychiatric patients with low self-esteem. As opposed to talking down to.

I realize that this is an extension of my thesis' focus from '03 on increasing psychotic clients' agency in relation to their symptoms.
