All clients strive for something - 27.08.19
When you meet clients as a psychologist, you hear many stories. What they often have in common is that people want something that is difficult for them. They have a project, a wish. They come to share their endeavors, to get new ideas for their lives.
Some come so that their story can be heard and confirmed, recognized. Sometimes people don't quite know what their project is, and one of the meaningful tasks in the conversation can be to create context. To thematize their situation. Finding a headline for what the client wants. Making overarching or Metapsychological considerations.
As a client, you can be moved to a new place in your life when you get a different perspective on your situation. It does something to you when you speak in a new way. To be recognized for your quest. You could call it thematization or a Meta perspective.
